Intelligent Waves (IW), a cutting-edge IT systems integrator delivering high-impact transformational IT solutions to the Government’s most mission-critical challenges, is proud to announce it was awarded the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s 2021 Distinguished Service Award in the Veteran-Owned Business of the Year category in today’s ceremony at the Army/Navy Country Club. The Distinguished Service Awards are dedicated to honoring successful veteran-owned businesses in the Greater Washington business community that have demonstrated strong business performance and have made meaningful contributions to help Veterans succeed.
As a veteran-owned and operated company, Intelligent Waves is committed to attracting veteran candidates, translating their military language, and helping them transition into the workforce. IW partners with Warriors Ethos, a non-profit that assists veterans, service members, and their spouses. Since its inception, IW has raised millions of dollars for this cause. This year alone, Warriors Ethos raised over $185,000 and contributed over 120 hours of community services by its employees. IW’s employees actively and personally follow through by mentoring and guiding individual veterans to ensure their successful transition back to the workforce in Northern Virginia.
Additionally, IW offers various professional development opportunities to veterans, including the Admin to Engineer program (A2E). During the 18-month training, participants learn all the skills they need while obtaining the required certificates and TS/SCI security clearance. In addition, A2E participants receive all-expense-paid computer-based training, IT boot camp, lab work, mentoring, and job shadowing. Upon completion, graduates have all the certifications necessary to work as engineers on the company’s Engineering Services (ES) Team or in the Professional Services (PS) department.
Intelligent Waves also offers Executive Leadership Support for Veterans. Tony Crescenzo, IW’s President, is a Marine and volunteers his time and efforts by actively serving as the NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative (VEI) Task Force as a Co-Chair. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Semper Fi Fund. Through Tony’s leadership, IW proactively supports the NVTC Veterans Employment Initiative, which connects Veterans and military spouses to employment opportunities and supports member companies in their efforts to recruit, hire, train and retain qualified Veteran and military spouse employees.
