Vice President, Human Resources
Mercy joined Intelligent Waves in 2014 as HR Manager, and IW has experienced more than a 200% growth rate during her tenure. Her patience, adaptability and professionalism led to her promotion to HR Director in 2016, and most recently another promotion to Vice President of Human Resources. In her current role, she is a strategic partner and advisor to senior leadership.
She is responsible for formulating and implementing all HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top talent; development of benefits plans, and ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations. Her ability to provide well developed and balanced process improvements are pivotal in IW’s success.
Mercy’s expertise in the implementation of an HRIS and ATS system reduced the time to hire and on-board by over 43% while maintaining retention rates at 98% – which translates to very little disruption to the services IW provides to its customers. She implemented a visa process for IW’s OCONUS employees that is 50% faster than competitors and enables our engineers to be in classified locations on time and with the necessary host country documents.
Mercy is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Northern Virginia Chapter. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Zimbabwe, followed by a Master of Arts in Human Resources at Marymount University and an Master of Business Administration from Strayer University. She holds an Employee Engagement Specialist certification from Dale Carneige.
In her free time, Mercy enjoys yoga, hiking, and is an active member in her community choir. She also volunteers at various women’s shelters.
